Week 2: (due 2/9) Background of the firm (history, major acquisitions and divestitures, 5-year Trends for revenues by divisions/segments, market value for the past 20 years, Current share prices and those of the immediate competitors, current executive management and board of directors (main players), number of employee for the past 5 + years, revenue by geographic regions. You should also download the latest Investor Presentation for Product/Division and Regional details, this should give you a good background of your firm. Make sure you understand this material for class discussion) Week 3 &4: This is the start of your financial analysis: In EXCEL Financial reports (Balance sheet, Income Statement, Shareholders Equity and Cash Flows) for 5 years (2013-18, show it in this chronological order). These should be SEC Reports from the firm’s website and not from Yahoo/Google finance. Ratio analysis: Liquidity, profitability, Returns, Debt, Leverage. Industry/Sector outlook.
