Pulling from the textbook, assignments, and  Failing Our Veterans, write an essay that addresses the following:

a. The general evolution of veterans benefits from the Civil War through the Vietnam war.

b. How veterans and their benefits have been addressed (or used?) in American politics. Discuss veterans of at least two different wars in this section.

c. Your opinion (supported by facts!) of at least one of the following issues: Should there be a hierarchy of veterans needs that affects how much support they receive? Should veterans receive direct cash payments, or be restricted to programs like paying college tuition? 

d. Has America, from the Civil War to the Vietnam War, failed her veterans? Why or why not?

All essays must be at least four pages, double spaced, in 12 point, Times New Roman font, with one inch margins, and no indents (except for the first line of each paragraph) that effectively make the margins narrower. The first paragraph should start at the top of the first page. No title or title page is needed, as assignments are to be turned in via D2L. Your first paragraph should start at the top of the first page.

You may use the internet to help write your footnotes, but you CANNOT use online sources to provide content for the paper. Papers that include information from unapproved sources will receive a zero. Focus on the assigned book, not what you can google. (Your professor knows what is in this book . . . and what isn't, so outside information is pretty glaring when grading.)
