Toinvestigate this particular bias, which is called FAE, 76 students from Brooklyn college weresubjected to a quiz game. Each participant had two roles being one in answering questions andanother in interrogating. In addition, there was a position for an independent observer. The primaryhypothesis was that people ignored the power of situations. There was an expectation that theinterrogator would offer a higher rating when compared to the respondent. After the game, all theparticipants rated themselves as well as their partner. As expected, the interrogator ratedthemselves higher than the respondent. All the results confirmed the hypothesis that people do notconsider the situational fact when judging others. The drawback of the experiment was theanticipated biases of the study.
