Quasi-experiments lack random assignment. Randomization is critical because it helpsequate all groups by dealing with selection threats (Jackson, 2012). Quasi-experiments areusually conducted in cases where randomization is impossible or undesirable.A psychology professor intends to test whether giving weekly quizzes to students wouldhelp improve their performance. The professor opts to give quizzes to a part of her class and useanother as the control. The type of quasi-experimental design that I would propose for theparticular study is a non-equivalent control group posttest-only design. The treatment group getsquizzes while the control group does not hence non-equivalence (Krishnan, 2018). After thestudy, both groups are given a posttest quizzing students on the content covered in theintroductory class.
